We would like to walk you through our restoration path. For the first 5 years we were unable to do any work on the ship due to the restrictions near Praxair. We finally found a new spot for her in River Rouge in 2016, and it was working perfectly for Claire! Unfortunately, after 1 year a large company came and bought out the property forcing us to leave.

We searched high and low, and in the final minute, found a spot at Riverside Marina. While we lost valuable work time, we got her moved.

We were so determined to gain momentum on this project at her new home!

But then, a huge upset. Two years in, we had a tragic fire and lost a lot of our hard work and all of the remaining wood.

We still have many original pieces removed prior to the fire. We have every intention of bringing back the grand staircase and dance floor you all remember!

Since the fire, we happy to say we have gone full throttle on this project and have accomplished so much.

We are working hard to bring the Ste. Claire back to her original glory in a timely fashion.

We know Detroiters are eager to get back aboard this historic vessel and relive so many memories. Check back with us monthly for updates, pics, and more!”
